Our client, a nationally recognisable building contractor, are looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team in Dun Laoighaire. This company specialises in commercial and residential projects all over the country. This person will be seeking advancement from an engineering role and expected to support the Project Manager in the management of subcontractors, programme and risk identification. This is a full time permanent position and an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced PM and progress your career on a multi-million euro residential development.

Assistant Projects ManagerKey Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance on projects – liaising with internal and external design teams
  • Assist in financial forecasting
  • Liaising with procurement team on projects equipment purchasing, materials and subcontract packages
  • Efficient management of labour resources – site supervisory, direct and subcontract labour
  • Programme management – generation of own project programmes and weekly progress reports
  • Generation and issue of project documentation
  • Regular liaison with engineering support teams to ensure all aspects of project are up to date and recorded correctly
  • Monitor and control of supplier and subcontract supply chain to ensure best value and quality are achieved

 Key Requirements:

  • 3rd level degree in Construction or an Engineering related field is essential
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the delivery of large-scale structural engineering projects
  • Experience in a Senior Engineer or Site Manager role would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and people management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Possess exceptionally good organisational skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
