QESH Officer (Tipperary) – Engineering

Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 (Dependent on Exp)

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced QESH Officer with a leading engineering company in Tipperary. The role will be varied and the candidate will be accountable for the Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety compliance in all their activities.H&S Pic


  • Oversees Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems compliance and follows Continuous Performance Improvement cycle;
  • Keeping all sites up to date with Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Legislation;
  • Collaborates with the Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Manager and other HSEQ advisors / officers in the implementation of standards across the organisation;
  • Monitors non- conformance and effectiveness of corrective/ preventive actions taken
  • Conducts or collaborates in the investigation of incidents & accidents and checks compliance on implemented actions;
  • Undertaking risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced;
  • Identifying potential hazards;
  • Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards;
  • Determining ways of reducing risks;
  • Writing internal Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies/strategies;
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
  • Working with the Site Management Teams to ensure that all Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety standards are delivered to the customers’ expectations;
  • Making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation;
  • Compiling statistics;
  • Drawing-up safe operational practices and making necessary changes;
  • Writing reports, bulletins and newsletters;
  • Making presentations to groups of employees/managers;
  • Liaising with relevant authorities;
  • Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
  • Attending Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and reading professional journals;
  • Managing and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances, e.g. asbestos;


  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similiar position
  • Experience on engineering projects or in a manufacturing environment
  • Accredited professional body membership IOSH, IEMA, would be preferred.
