Health and Safety Advisor – Clare

Our Client, a well established civil engineering company are seeking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to their team in Clare. The company in question has experience in delivering significant projects all over the country. The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with company policy and relevant statutory provisions. This is a permanent position and this company have advised there is a pathway for training and career progression

  • Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with OHSAS 18001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Carrying out inductions
  • Producing monthly statistics
  • Carry out and document site audits and inspections
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.
  • Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records
  • Investigating, logging and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances
  • Completing all necessary report forms
  • Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls
  • Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available
  • Prepare and present toolbox talks as and when required
  • Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings
  • Review subcontractor documentation

Qualifications, experience & Skills:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification in health, safety, environmental and quality
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams,
  • Good written and spoken communication abilities,
  • Good IT skills with a high attention to detail,
  • A flexible and proactive approach,
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
